Queues
The Queues instrument provides the operator with real-time bandwidth queue statistics, traffic rates, and quality of service (QoS) information.
Note: In cluster deployments, a Cluster Node field is displayed in applicable scaffolds to indicate which node the entry belongs to.
Traffic Rate Summaries
The Queues instrument displays several summary panels providing at-a-glance traffic rate information:
Login Session Traffic Rates Summary shows aggregate throughput statistics for active login sessions, allowing operators to quickly identify high-bandwidth users.
MAC Traffic Rates Summary displays traffic rates organized by MAC address, useful for identifying devices consuming significant bandwidth.
IP Traffic Rates Summary shows bandwidth consumption organized by IP address.
Policy Traffic Rates Summary displays aggregate traffic rates for each configured bandwidth policy.
Bandwidth Queue Traffic Rates Summary shows throughput statistics for each bandwidth queue definition.
PF Queues Summary provides an overview of packet filter queue utilization and statistics.
Interface Rates
The Interface Rates scaffold displays real-time throughput statistics for all network interfaces.
The Cluster Node field shows which node in a cluster the interface belongs to. The If field shows the interface name. The BPS In field displays the current inbound throughput in bytes per second. The BPS Out field shows the current outbound throughput in bytes per second. The PPS In field displays the inbound packets per second. The PPS Out field shows the outbound packets per second.
The Uplink, Interface, VLAN, and PPP fields link to the corresponding rXg configuration records, allowing operators to identify which configured network element the interface belongs to.
PF Queues
The PF Queues scaffold displays detailed information about active packet filter queues used for traffic shaping and quality of service.
The Cluster Node field shows which node in a cluster the queue belongs to. The BPS field shows the current throughput in bytes per second. The PPS field displays the current packets per second. The Direction field indicates whether the queue handles inbound or outbound traffic.
The IP field shows the IP address associated with the queue if it is a per-device queue. The MAC field displays the MAC address if applicable. The Login field shows the login session identifier for session-based queues.
Association fields link the queue to relevant rXg configuration objects: Login Session, Account, IP Group, Account Group, MAC Group, Shared Credential Group, RADIUS Group, LDAP Group, Policy, and Bandwidth Queue.
The Priority field shows the queue priority level. The Upperlimit field indicates the maximum bandwidth the queue may use. The Realtime field shows the realtime (guaranteed minimum) bandwidth allocation.
The Uplink, Interface, and VLAN fields link to the network interface configuration. The If field displays the interface name the queue is attached to. The Name field shows the full queue name, which typically follows a hierarchical naming convention. The Root Queue field shows the parent queue in the hierarchy.
The Clear Assignment Cache action clears the cached mappings between accounts, IP addresses, and bandwidth queues. Use this when queue assignments appear out of sync (e.g., traffic not being shaped correctly) or after making significant changes to bandwidth queue configurations. The system will rebuild queue assignments automatically after the cache is cleared.
